For a post about Venice, I know that I'm seriously lacking in the touristy department as I have zero photos of Basilica di San Marco or Piazza San Marco for that matter; (but I promise, that it's coming right up in the next post!) Venice, just the mention of that word; and it'd mean so many things, to many people. It truly is one of the most beautiful places in the world, though it is really choked full with people (and trash!) all the time. I'm lucky enough to have gone to Venice for a week when I was there with the uni and it is everything that I've dreamed about.

The crazy, Italian heat; the Italians; the people, the food; the canals- how it shimmers at night. Some of the houses were so beautiful, lit up by the canal, at night. Although gondolas are so commercialized these days; there's something romantic, and achingly poetic; when I saw a lone gondola, gliding past, as we walked on the cobbled streets at night.

What I loved (and hated, it depends) about Venice, is the amount of distance that you can cover. It is through the wanderings and getting lost in alleys; where you see bits and pieces of how the locals live. I'll never forget dinner one night; where Venetians were gathering around in the little cafe, playing music, eating and having so much fun with one another; truly enjoying each others' company.

The city is seeped with so much history and culture; there's so much life, colour and music to be found; it's hard, not to fall in love with the city which most people say, takes three days, to cover. That is true, in a way. But in just three to four days; it's impossible to see what Venice, truly has to offer.

Speaking of which, I'm truly surprised by the number of stylish individuals whom I've stopped on the streets to get a photo of! Blogging, and taking street style photography had given me the guts, mostly, to meet so many amazing people from all over the world. I've got another half to publish in the next post; but here are some amazing people which I've met; one of them, Signor Francesco; is actually a doctor! How awesome is that?!

  2. I've been to Venice last year. It was a beautiful city and we saw as much as we could of it in one day. We were heading home after we spend 10 days touring the country. I have a picture very similar to the one you took on the ponte! x
