Earthy Tones

I really think that I'm incapable of posing properly, for the camera. I can never be one of those girls who stare sullenly at the camera (I always end up with hamster cheeks), and whenever I smile, I end up making a funny face just as my picture is taken! Hence, I always end up with a million dollars, horsey smile... But oh well, whatever that rocks my boat(;

Recently, I've been absolutely crazy about these brown boots of mine, that I wear it with almost everything! It's such a gorgeous brown, that I try to do it justice by wearing it with earthy tones; this old cropped sweater of mine have been sitting in my closet for months- I'm so glad that I've given it a new lease of life! x

Flower Power

Floral 2

This may seem like Blogger Suicide when you think about it... But oh well, I have to come right out and say that, nope, I'm not exactly the trendiest person you can find around. I have a uniform of pants and maxi skirts that I stick to, which I mix it up with what I feel comfy in. At the moment, it's sweaters, and 3/4 sleeved, dip hemmed blouses. So, it may seem a bit much, when I actually, genuinely, fell in love with the floral-on-floral look! (Jeez, come to think about it, I actually considered buying the entire floral pant suit from ASOS... Hmm.) So, being the ever rational/non-impulsive buying consumer; when I saw this floral shirt on eBay, I knew, that it's for me. I was a little worried that the chiffon would be of crap quality, but thank goodness, it isn't! The buttons may look a little funny... But I shan't be too bothered by it. I reckon it's about enough to tide me over my floral frenzy.

Go on, take a look, you know you want to(; x

Gold Shards.

Photobucket

Thanks to my darlings, Kim & D who are such huge advocates for gold statement necklace; I jumped on the bandwagon about a week ago, and got this gorgeous gold shard type necklace from Lovisa. It caught my eye the minute I stepped into the store and I love how gorgeously understated it looks with my old ratty sweater;  Definitely felt like a rock star that day. x

These are the photos from the Vintage Shoot which I had done with Addy last Saturday, and the photos have turned out amazingly well!  I was so excited when I saw the photos and I've definitely had a hard time choosing them to put on the blog (And there's a reason why it is so photo-heavy). Our beautiful Thai model, Nada, is just gorgeous, and the perfect girl for this shoot. (This is her first shoot, can you believe it?) A shout-out to Alexa too, the cheeky one, injecting life and laughter into the shoot by the lake in uni. I just feel so proud when I saw other people stopping and looking at us shoot the girls by the lake. They're just so pretty, aren't they?(; Again, a special thanks to Jessica at Sunday Social, for bring so trusting with the beautiful clothes; without which, this shoot will most probably never materialize...

Also, for those of you who are interested, do pop by Addy's tumblr to see the photographer behind this first shoot of hers; more photos from the shoot and of course her other works! xx

Mindless, Consumerism.

Apologies for the lack of posts. The reason/excuse(?) is perfectly legit, as I'm back in Singapore. Oh, home sweet home. Decided to go back for a visit as it was mid semester break; and I thought, heck, I might as well skip one week of school to make full use of my visit. It was definitely one of the best decisions I've made. I've missed everyone terribly! My family, my relative, my friends; (oh, the look on their faces when I popped out of nowhere to surprise them!), and of course, my darling Kobe.

I've definitely shopped to my heart's content, satisfied all my gastronomic cravings; and right now, I'm in the midst of rushing for a report that is due this coming Monday. Bah, hambug. At least I'm halfway through.

Most of my pictures are in my digital camera; which I can't upload, for the very fact that Sony's SD card doesn't fit with my mac. (Mental note to get the card reader); Still, I'm thankful for my Brother's Canon (and his skills!) which I've definitely missed too;p Shall use this weekend, to find a remotely pretty location and shoot till we drop (that's definitely in the works). But for now. A shot of my haul from this trip (?) Ahh, I've definitely missed shopping back home.

And so, the mindless part of this post; one crazy afternoon; just as I was getting ready to go out to meet the girls; I've decided to orchestrate a mini, crazy blogger shoot. Cajoled Jason to bring his camera; went ahead and put on my highest pair of wedges, leashed Kobe, and we make a funny trio, walking down the street in the sweltering heat. It was no mean feat, walking an excitable dog with 4 inch heels on; but it was good fun; one of those memories to keep(:

When in Rome...

I'm finally back from my Summer/Winter(?) vacation in Italy and it was definitely everything that I've imagined it to be... Though, of course... It still can't be compared to a certain City in my heart.

I've taken tons of photos; with more which are yet to be developed; (yes, I've taken to using a film camera and with my dodgy manual focus skills; I'm actually looking forward to seeing how the photos turn out...) I'll be blogging about my vacation based on the Cities in the order that I've gone to; first up would be Rome, then Florence and Siena, and finally, Venice.

Each City has its own uniqueness but it is Venice, colourful Venice and the many canals that have captured my heart. True, each time I convert a meal to SGD (especially in Venice!), my mind registers shock; (it's about €12 for a simple meal which is about SGD$24?!) that I have to stop converting the currency each time. There's something strangely liberating about being lost in a City, taking in the sights and smells, and hearing the bantering that is going on around me in a strange, yet equally compelling language; spoken by Italians; who are so ever passionate.

After declaring my love for Venice, I may not exactly be the best person to blog about Rome. Somehow, my pictures show; that too. (Don't the buildings and what not look a little dreary?) Don't get me wrong, Rome, is beautiful. The architectures, the art, the fast paced lifestyle with cheeky/surly taxi drivers who are out to get extra €3/4 out of you by going the long/wrong(?) way. Every corner you turn, perhaps, every stone you throw, may land on something which is easily hundreds and hundreds years old.

The City is so seeped with history and culture; and to top it off; I'm a crazy fan of Dan Brown, so I do get a little kick when I see churches and buildings which he'd mentioned in his books; and to top it off, I've watched Roman Holiday, twice, before I left for my trip; (you don't want to know how many pictures I've taken with the fountain where Gregory Peck found Audrey Hepburn in the movie!)

But still, Rome, is Rome; and one do feel awe-inspired when standing in front of the Colosseum where gladiators had fought for their life, and freedom; while facing savage beasts; Standing in the middle of Piazza San Pietro in the Vatican City; you can only imagine how the Pope feels when he gives his weekly mass to the faithful. It may not be my favourite Italian City; but Rome, definitely left its mark on me(:

Also, on this trip, I've taken to taking my street style photography project to a slightly sophisticated level; to be honest, when my friend suggested for me to take street style photography on the streets of Italy, I was taken aback. Firstly, there was the whole issue of me approaching someone, who may not even speak my language and; I have absolutely no credibility to take their photos! Still, I'm glad that it's worked out; and I'll be posting them onto my friend's website too; (more about that, at a later date!)
